The Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation(ALSF) was founded in 2005 by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, a brave and caring little girl who herself had been fighting cancer-neuroblastoma.
When Alex was just four years old, she decided to hold a lemonade stand in the front yard of her small townhouse and raise money for pediatric cancer research. Spurred by her perseverance and selflessness, a movement has grown, which is now a nationwide organization and continues to spread even around the world.
The foundation’s work has raised millions of dollars to fund groundbreaking research and other initiatives, sustain families affected by childhood cancer, and educate the public about the grave problems that are associated with pediatric oncology. Sadly, Alex lost her fight with cancer when she was eight years old, but her indelible memory is still alive today in the ALSF.
Our Mission
GreenStar Cares mission is clear: to change the lives of children with cancer. For this reason, we’ve chosen to donate and sponsor Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Our hope is to organize communities into collective action.
By raising awareness, GreenStar offers support to families affected by childhood cancer, knowing the emotional, financial, and other burdens they carry are heavy ones. We stand with them, providing a sense of solidarity to make sure no family goes through this process alone. Most importantly, our mission allows everyone to participate in healing childhood cancer. We believe that no matter how small your efforts, putting them together can have a huge impact. With cooperation, empathy, and a common concern, we aspire to give hope and healing to these courageous little soldiers in their fight against childhood cancer.
